Cole Palmer confirms he is NOT leaving Chelesa at the end of the season. “I wanted to leave because I felt there was no hope for me after the SACKING of Enzo Maresca and I couldn’t compete anymore. But what he said to me completely changed my perspective. Because of him, I’m staying

Rosenior to Hold Transfer Talks with Chelsea Hierarchy

Liam Rosenior has confirmed he will meet with Chelsea’s senior leadership later this week to discuss possible transfer activity, following what he described as several “pleasant surprises” during his winning debut against Charlton Athletic.

Chelsea’s January business has been relatively low-key so far, with the club selling former loanee Leo Castledine to Middlesbrough and recalling Caleb Wiley early from his loan spell at Watford. The recent managerial transition from Enzo Maresca to Rosenior has also contributed to a natural slowdown in transfer operations at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking at Monday’s press conference, the new Chelsea head coach emphasized his desire to fully assess the current squad before pushing for new signings.

“When I first spoke with the leadership, I made it clear that my focus was on evaluating the players already here,” Rosenior said. “When you give people opportunities, you often uncover positive surprises—and that’s exactly what happened against Charlton. I was genuinely impressed by several performances.”

He added that while the January window presents an opportunity to strengthen quickly, he believes solutions can often be found internally.

“Of course, we’re in the middle of the transfer window and everyone wants success as soon as possible,” Rosenior continued. “But I firmly believe that sometimes the answers are already within the building. I’ll make those decisions alongside the leadership team, likely towards the end of the week, once I’ve had a proper look at the entire squad.”

Rosenior’s remarks point to a cautious, evaluation-first approach, with any major transfer decisions expected only after a comprehensive assessment of Chelsea’s existing options.
