Kobbie Mainoo appeared to have the world at his feet at the beginning of the 2024–25 Premier League season. with the age of 19, he had just finished an incredible season with Manchester United, where he scored in their FA Cup final victory against rivals Manchester City.
Gareth Southgate decided to take a chance and pick him for the Euros because of his performances. Mainoo gained prominence as the competition progressed, beginning with the final loss to Spain. It appeared that both club and country could confidently proclaim the birth of a star despite the setback.
Less than a year later, he is surplus to needs at Old Trafford and is on his way out. He has only been able to watch from the sidelines during United’s two Premier League games thus far, and he has been connected to both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
